“I’m a Denver native and I received my B.A. in Mass Communications from the University of Denver in 1975. My wife Terry and I moved to the Vail Valley on a full-time basis in 1993 and back to downtown Denver in 2012. Our son Andy graduated from Battle Mountain High School and the University of Colorado. He was a TV news producer for 5 years and is now a PR executive living in Denver.”

Indoor interests include: film, live theater, non-fiction books, new technology and creative digital media. Outdoor activities include hiking, fly fishing, snowshoeing and adventure travel.

Community Service & Consulting
2001 - Present
Served on boards of the Public Education Foundation of Eagle County and The Youth Foundation and provided various technical, business and creative services to Habitat for Humanity, Eagle County School District, Vail Valley Foundation, and The Vilar Center for the Performing Arts.

Commercial consulting assignments and projects (CTD Partners) have included work within the health industry, recreational and outdoor hospitality industries including Winnebago Industries, Sunland Resorts, Vail-Summit Orthopaedics, Colorado Mountain Medical and the Anschutz Center for Health and Wellness (University of Colorado Medical School).

Riverfront Park Master Association. Serving as board member and president of Denver's newest urban neighborhood in lower downtown. The master association provides security, maintenance and community building services to a mixture of apartments, townhomes, and commercial businesses including the Museum of Contemporary Art.

Berry Creek Metro District. As president of the board, spearheaded a successful $4M bond election to build a new community freeway underpass and led efforts in securing $11M of federal funding along with mid-valley metro district participation in Edwards I-70 interchange traffic improvements.

Economic Council of Eagle County
2002 - 2011
Founder and executive director of the Economic Council of Eagle County (including the towns of Vail, Minturn, Redcliff, Avon, Edwards, Eagle and Gypsum). Developed an organization that linked governments and businesses together with a common goal of maintaining economic vitality with a long-term vision. The ECEC introduced the first ever workforce surveys and quarterly reports monitoring Eagle County’s economic health.

In December of 2006 the ECEC sponsored an Urban Land Institute Advisory Services panel which was a week-long in-depth analysis of workforce housing. The ULI report formed the basis of a countywide effort to develop affordable workforce housing which was led by the Economic Council.

Cimarron International, Inc.
1978 - 2001
Founder and CEO of a full-service business presentation and communications company. Cimarron grew to become the premier business communication company in Colorado. Cimarron produced very high-stakes presentations to: Major League Baseball to win the Colorado Rockies franchise, United States Olympic Committee for Colorado’s bid for the 1998 Olympics, Department of Energy for CH2M Hill to win the $4B clean-up of the Rocky Flats Nuclear facility, and the Mile-Hi Stadium District for Turner Construction to build Mile-Hi Stadium.

Major clients included: Apple Computer, Johns Manville, Lockheed Martin, U S WEST, Citicorp/Diner’s Club, American Express, AT&T, Coca-Cola, Continental Airlines, Denver Chamber of Commerce, State of Colorado, City of Denver, Kampgrounds of America (KOA), Denver Post, Sir Speedy, Northern Telecom, Scitex Europe (HP), Safeway, Health Net, Samsonite, Coors, American Humane Association, Ernst & Young, Arthur Anderson, United Artists, TCI, RE/MAX, Denver Tech Center, KUSA-TV, Fox31-TV, Clear Channel (Jacor) Radio, and Texaco.

InfoNow Corporation
1995 - 2000
Served alternately as CEO and then vice-chairman of the board. Consulted on new business and technology initiatives. Conceptualized and helped develop InfoNow’s business providing high-level customer inquiry management and geo-locating mapping services via the web, call centers, and integrated voice response units. Clients included Allstate, American Airlines, Apple Computer, Bank of America, BankOne, Federal Express, First Union, Fujitsu, Goodyear, Hewlett Packard, H&R Block, IBM, Intel, Kenwood, Lucent, Maytag, Motorola, NationsBank, Royal Bank of Canada, Royal Shell, Sony, Snapper, United Healthcare, UPS, and Visa.

InfoNow was named the #1 Public company in Colorado by The Denver Post (8/1/99)

Denver Research Institute

Executive Producer of “VINTAGE” and “STANDBY” and “ACCESS” instructional video series covering information relating to library services to seniors and innovative uses of library media. Responsibilities included grant development, writing, producing, and distribution management.
